Hello there!
I use Thunderbird on a Linux system, but, have used it under Win XP. In XP, I think there is a control panel called Internet Options, where you can set default email, web browser, and rss reader. Also, you can go to T
Hello there!
I'm posting this again, since my last got cut off and submitted, before I could finish.
In Thunderbird, there is a setting in the preferences 'menus->edit->preferences->advanced', on the General page, that toggles thunderbird's checking whether it is the default email program on startup. If it is not, you get a dialogue, asking whether you want Thunderbird to be your default email program. Once you say 'yes', it will remain so, and you shouldn't be asked again.
Which GUI do you use? I use Gnome under Linux, where there is a Preferences pane called Preferred Applications, where I can set default email, news reader, web browser, and rss feed manager. Any version of Windows will also have such a panel. When I used XP Home, I seem to recall there was a panel called Internet Options, with a tab like 'default programs'. Look for something similar.
I don't know how you can tell your screen reader to stop telling you the font. Maybe forcing all messages to be shown in plain text will help?
thanks for the responses, dave:)
1 more question if you don't mind- how do i get to the junk email folder?
i only see inbox and trash
but need to get to the junk folder to move some emails from lists to the inbox.
will try your suggestions- and hope they work
As for your x-western issue, inside thunderbird, press jaws+f2, d, to open the dictionary manager. Add an entry, with "x-western" without the quotes, and then " ", a single space character, into the replace word box. Do the same for x-unicode, that is, add x-unicode with a single space character as the replacement word. If you can give me your Jaws version, I can be more specific, if you wish. ah thanks brandan.
i'm glad their is a way to make it stop.
it anoys me:)
thanks.
Hi,
I have T-Bird connecting to my gmail box with imap. When I tab to my folder list, I see 'spam', among others, in my expanded 'gmail' tree view. Maybe your list messages are in inbox, labeled as junk? Go to the view menu, and make sure that junk mail is exposed; it may be under 'view->layout'. In t-bird preferences, I unchecked all junk mail options.
